You can change the condition and price of any Edmonton house. You can even change its size but the one thing you cannot change is the location. Location increases desirability which in turn increase demand.  And in real estate, demand increases the price!
Here are some things to consider when searching for a location to buy an Edmonton home.
Predict The Future
There are a lot of real estate agents that will tell you directly to ‘buy in a safe neighborhood’. It makes sense that the agent is giving you the best options out there right now.  But neighborhood change just like with everything else. Don’t buy in a ‘good’ or ‘bad’ neighborhood necessarily.  Instead buy where you can predict the future of a neighborhood. Just because it is ‘good’ right now doesn’t mean it will be so in the future.  Same goes for the ‘bad’. There are a lot of Edmonton neighbourhoods undergoing gentrification. When looking for a neighborhood ask yourself: ‘where will this neighborhood be in the future?’
The Millennials
If you are investing in an Edmonton house and eventually plan to sell it, then you should consider the millennials. Buyers are composed of 60% millennials at this present time which is big a portion to target. If you buy an Edmonton property in a location that attracts millennial buyers then selling will become much easier.
Transportation
Commute time is a factor when choosing a location. People are attracted to easily accessible highways for cars, roads for bikes, public transportation or even walkability. Always remember that people pay to save time especially if the location is near there work place.
School and Amenities
Local schools and amenities have a direct impact on location. Restaurants, malls, and entertainment options are also some of the top amenities buyers are looking for when buying an Edmonton home. While schools are important especially if you consider the millennials who will be raising families, buyers want access to amenities and schools within a five to ten minutes drive.
Location is key when looking to buy an Edmonton home. It is considered the most important factor when buying Edmonton real estate. Consider the circumstances involved in a location through research because with enough knowledge about a location you’ll know that the investment will pay great interest!!
